Community Slow Start

The Slow Unveiling of the Community Section

If you’ve been clicking around MindfulMadness.net and wondering, Hey, why’s the community section not a robust, chaotic, delightfully weird community, like I expected?, let me level with you. It’s coming… slowly. And that’s not because I don’t want it—it’s because launching into full-blown, open-ended engagement is a bit daunting for someone who is strongly avoidant to anything that could interrupt the peace I have fought hard to get and now fiercely guard, much to my detriment.  It like being immersed in water and wanting to breathe and not breathe at the same time, so you continue to hold your breath, waiting for one to give and feeling like holding your breath forever is the best (impossible) option.  This is me trying to take a breath.

And that, is what complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) can feel like when trying to interact outside my comfort zone.

CPTSD: A Quick (and Relatable) Breakdown

For those unfamiliar, CPTSD isn’t just regular old stress—it’s the remix version (often created by childhood traumas, abusive partner relationships), layered with fun extras like hyper-awareness (of those around me), emotional exhaustion (in social situations), and an internal alarm system that sometimes goes off at the mere thought of new social interactions. Think of it like having an over-caffeinated security guard in my brain who yells, “New people? Potential chaos? HARD PASS.”

I would rather get up and speak in front of large audiences (and have many times) than mingle in the crowed before or after the event.  Serious – exit stage left!

And, it’s not that I don’t want to engage—I do!

What This Means for the Community Section

So, will the Mindful Madness community be a vibrant, interactive hub of quirky ideas, shared hacks, and collective creative brilliance? Absolutely. Will it happen overnight? Hard no. Creating and managing a community means vulnerability, spontaneity, and the occasional wild card moment. For someone with CPTSD, that’s like willingly entering a game of dodgeball while also trying to do deep breathing exercises.

Instead, it’s going to be a slow build, one that allows me to ease into engagement, set up systems that feel sustainable, and make sure this space stays true to the heart of Mindful Madness—fun, edgy, authentic, and free from stress-induced mental spirals.

Here’s what you can expect:

      • A gradual rollout of community features, starting with reader-submitted tips and stories before moving into more interactive spaces.

      • A careful curation of discussions so that engagement stays manageable while I get my footing.

      • An evolving approach based on what feels sustainable, not overwhelming.

    Patience, My Quirky Friends

If you’re someone who thrives on immediate engagement and fast-moving forums, I totally get it—you may have to flex your patience muscles a bit while I get comfortable in this space. But if you’re here for a community that’s built with intention, honesty, and a little bit of beautiful chaos, then trust me—it’ll be worth the wait.

In the meantime, feel free to stick around, explore, and drop a quirky comment or two. I may not be diving headfirst into the community pool just yet, but I am wading in, and that’s a start.

So, thanks for your patience, your curiosity, and your willingness to be part of something that’s growing at its own weird, wonderful pace. Mindful Madness is just getting started, and I’m glad you’re here.
